Our Farm

At Giving Tree Acres, we raise nutrient-dense food using regenerative farming practices that prioritize animal welfare, soil health, and environmental stewardship.

From our farm in Hico, Texas, we produce:

  • Pasture-raised chicken
  • Grass-fed and grass-finished beef
  • Pasture-raised pork
  • Farm-fresh eggs
  • Seasonal fruits and vegetables

The vast majority of the food we produce is donated to nonprofit partners serving families experiencing food insecurity across Dallas.

A small portion of our farm products is sold locally to help fund our food donation program and support the ongoing costs of raising animals and growing food. This model allows us to sustainably expand access to fresh, nourishing food in our community.

How We Raise Our Food

We believe the way food is grown matters just as much as the food itself.
Our farm uses regenerative agriculture — a farming approach that focuses on restoring soil health, supporting biodiversity, and producing nutrient-dense food while improving the land for future generations.

Key practices on our farm include:

    Rotational Grazing

Our livestock are rotated frequently to fresh pasture.

This allows animals to access fresh forage while giving pastures time to recover and regenerate. Rotational grazing improves soil health, supports diverse plant growth, and mimics the natural grazing patterns that ecosystems evolved with.

    Pasture-Raised Livestock

Our animals live outdoors on pasture where they can express natural behaviors.

They are raised without antibiotics or added hormones, and we prioritize humane, low-stress handling throughout their lives.

    High-Quality Feed

We carefully select the highest-quality feeds available to support animal health and maximize the nutritional quality of the food we produce.

Healthy animals raised on clean pasture and quality feed result in food that is both nourishing and responsibly produced.

    Regenerative Land Management

Our farming practices focus on improving the health of the land through:

    • Rotational grazing
    • Soil-building practices
    • Encouraging biodiversity
    • Minimizing soil disturbance

Healthy soil leads to healthier plants, healthier animals, and healthier food.

Food With a Purpose

Giving Tree Acres exists to serve the community.

While most farms operate primarily to sell food, our farm operates to donate food.

The majority of what we produce is directed into our Food Donation Program, which provides pasture-raised proteins and fresh produce to nonprofit partners serving families across Dallas.

By pairing regenerative farming with community partnerships, we are able to deliver food that is:

  • fresh
  • nutrient-dense
  • locally grown
  • responsibly raised

— the kind of food that families need but often struggle to access.

Supporting The Farm

A small portion of the food produced at Giving Tree Acres is sold locally.
These product sales help fund our food donation program.

Every purchase helps us donate more healthy food to families across Dallas.
